Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
Senian is a private AI assistant developed by Senian LLC, an Oregon limited liability company. You can reach us at support@senian.ai.
2. What Data Senian Collects
Senian does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on our servers. The app runs entirely on your device using locally downloaded AI models.
Specifically, Senian does not collect:
- Your chat conversations or messages
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your location
- Any data from device integrations (email, calendar, contacts, messages) — these are accessed locally and only when you explicitly ask
- Voice recordings or transcripts
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
3. AI Model Processing
When you use Senian in Local mode, all AI inference happens on your device using the downloaded model file. No prompts or responses leave your iPhone.
When you enable Web Search, your query may be sent to a third-party search provider to retrieve results. Web Search is disabled by default and must be explicitly turned on in Settings.
4. iCloud Sync
Senian includes an optional iCloud Sync feature, which you can turn on or off at any time in Settings. When it is enabled, Senian uses your own private iCloud account to keep your data in sync across your Apple devices:
- Your chat history is stored in your app's private iCloud container so your conversations are available on your other devices.
- Your app settings and preferences are synced via iCloud Key-Value Storage.
- Downloaded AI models are not synced — each device downloads its own copy.
This data is stored in your iCloud account, not on Senian's servers, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Senian has no access to it. You can disable iCloud Sync in the app's Settings, or turn off iCloud for Senian entirely in iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud.
5. Device Integrations
Senian can optionally integrate with your Email, Calendar, Messages, Contacts, and Phone app. These integrations:
- Are off by default and require you to manually enable each one in Settings
- Only access your data when you explicitly ask Senian to perform a task (e.g., "schedule a meeting")
- Never upload your contacts, emails, or calendar data to any server
- Are governed by iOS permission prompts — you can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy
6. Third-Party Services
Senian does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app contains no ads.
AI model files are downloaded from Hugging Face during setup. Once downloaded, no further communication with external servers occurs during normal Local mode use.
7. AI Model & Open-Source Licensing
Senian is built on the following AI model and open-source software. We are grateful to their authors.
- Gemma — Senian's on-device AI is powered by Google's Gemma model. Gemma is provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use and the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy. Gemma is a trademark of Google LLC.
- llama.cpp — MIT License, Copyright © 2023 Georgi Gerganov.
- LocalLLMClient — MIT License, Copyright © 2025 Tatsuya Tanaka.
By using Senian, you agree to comply with the Gemma Terms of Use and Prohibited Use Policy when interacting with the AI model.
8. Children's Privacy
Senian is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you via the app on significant changes. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
